This is a relaunch of an existing church, so the name has both internal and external significance. Many icons were explored, but the solution that resonated most with the church was this text-based logo that includes a horizon line. A new day is approaching, a new hope, a new promise, a new future, new mercies (Lamentations 3:23). This good news is significant to those already following Jesus and those who are looking for the comfort and assurances God’s promised provide.
The color palette has a depth (desaturation) that gives it a sense of seriousness and reality. The specific colors are derived from the church’s physical space, which compliment the sunrise/sky implied by the logo. Since the church was just remodeled, using the same palette found in the physical space will create a sense of familiarity for those who visit after encountering external marketing. When looking to expand the palette, introduce yellows and gold tones, drawing additional inspiration from the wood in the physical space, as well as the sunrise metaphor of the logo.
